The UPLB Ugnayan ng Pahinungód conducted its Volunteer Camp for the 2nd Semester of A.Y. 2022-2023 last March 18-19, 2023. The said camp is the first to be held at the UP Laguna-Quezon Land Grant at Siniloan, Laguna since the onset of the pandemic.
A total of 40 participants comprised of UPLB students and alumni completed the volunteer training course facilitated by Pahinungód volunteers.
The first day of the camp began with a series of teambuilding activities to build trust and enhance teamwork and camaraderie among the participants.
This was followed by lectures on basic facilitation and project management where they were taught of different teaching and facilitation techniques and processes they could use during fieldworks.
Discussions on the different types of group dynamics, ethics in volunteering, conflict management, and community development were conducted the next day. The participants were given a chance to apply the knowledge and skills they acquired from the two-day event through demo teaching.
The volunteer camp ended with the sealing of their time capsule, and a closing remark from Director Jose Limbay Lahi Espaldon. (Kurt Ivan Angeles)
