The UPLB Ugnayan ng Pahinungód joined the celebration of this year’s International Women’s Month with the theme “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society.” 

UPLB Pahinungód Director Jose Limbay Lahi O. Espaldon gave a solidarity message in commemoration of the event during the opening ceremony of KALAKALAN 2023 Trade Fair at the Baker Hall Basketball Court on March 6, 2023.

Director Espaldon assured that Pahinungód is one with the community in upholding women’s rights and gender equality.

“Asahan ninyong ang UPLB Pahinungód ay patuloy na maghahatid ng mga proyektong magbibigay ng oportunidad at magtataas ng kamalayan sa mga karapatan ng iba’t ibang sektor,” he added.

Pahinungód’s women-led partner communities from Los Baños, Nagcarlan, and Liliw, Laguna were invited to promote and market their locally made products such as footwear, bags, beaded accessories, and snacks throughout the duration of the fair, which ended on March 11. 

Other Pahinungód partner communities will be featured in the Facebook page of Buyanihan, a program created to support and promote agriculture and the local products of different communities.

KALAKALAN 2023 was organized by the UPLB Business Affairs Office, UPLB Gender Center, and UPLB Ugnayan ng Pahinungód. (Kurt Ivan Angeles)
